Greetings Pizza Lover.

You've come to a safe space. My name is Elisa and ... I eat a lot of pizza.

I'm serving the best pizza recipes and reviews, plus giving you a little workout motivation — so that extra slice is guilt free.

XO,

Setting Out to Crush 2018 Goals #Slayallday

Setting Out to Crush 2018 Goals #Slayallday

As the new year approaches and you are still procrastinating to buy Christmas gifts start to think about your goals for 2018, what do you want to accomplish?

I have a tradition each December to jot down five to ten goals I'd like to complete the following year. Do I always complete them? No. Is it fun to try? Absolutely. Making quantifiable goals that are realistic is important for personal and professional growth. So who's with me?

I'd like to share a few of my personal goals for next year in regards to fitness, career aspirations, and pizza eating (duh).

Fitness

Goal: Place 1st (in my age group) in a Sprint Triathlon

Confession: I've never placed better than 2nd in a sprint triathlon, and I'm always a little bummed.  *Most of you roll eyes and make snarky remark* However, for me this is an achievement that has always been just out of reach. I've been close a few times (2nd and 3rd place on the regular) but never reached the top spot on the podium. I know there's a handful of places I can speed up my time: transition, better swim exit, pushing harder on the run...to name a few areas of improvement.

Focusing on the top spot of the podium in 2018!

Next year, I'm going to focus on where I can get faster and push myself to achieve this goal. I know I have what it takes, I just need to focus, commit to a race (this is also on my list of things to do!) and practice, practice, practice!

Chime in on the comments if you have any spring sprint suggestions!

Professional

Goal: Find a new job where I'm passionate about the company's mission and feel supported to succeed.

If you know me, then you know I was recently laid off (whomp, whomp) from working at Competitor Group, the owner, and operator of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series due to the recent acquisition by World Triathlon Corporation.

Working for more than seven years with the company and feeling passionate about the brand and purpose has made me rethink my next job opportunity. I don't want to settle for any job. I want to find a company where I can grow and use my skills to better the organization. Most importantly, I want to find a company that will push me, teach me new skills, foster growth and practice employee appreciation.

It's easy to list these things and also be frantically applying for every job on Indeed.com because I have bills to pay. But I think at the end of the day, making sure I find a job that encompasses my desires will lead to a happy and successful next step in my career.

Pizza

Goal: make 10 new pizza recipes for the blog!

Besides reviewing pizza places on this blog (which Yelp can do for you any day), I want to start experimenting more with new recipes I can share!

I know that I want to try and cut back on cheese and bread (not at once, let's be real), so I'm thinking I may do a few different pizza's that are gluten-free friendly and dairy free (and again, not together because then you might as well go eat some brussel sprouts). I'd love to know if there is anything else you'd like to read about!

10 new pizza creations in one year isn't too lofty, but I think it will be challenging. I should probably add a goal about how much more exercise I will need to do to compensate.

What goals are you going to make for 2018?

Start listing them now so you can map out how you will accomplish them in the new year (after you get rid of your hangover on January 1).
